A wide-angle lens makes sense for photographing the Saarschleife if you don't want to take several photos together as stich homework from the photo excursion. With an 11mm lens, you can take spectacular shots from the observation tower of a conveniently located treetop path. The high contrasts between the white clouds and the dark forests can be managed well with HDR shots. Adobe Lightroom's HDR function was used here. We did not use special presets from e.g. Photomatix for image processing.
We were lucky with the weather. The clouds reflect in the Saar and give the pictures a quite unique look.
