Machu Picchu is a legendary Inca city in the Peruvian Andes, built in the 15th century and rediscovered in the 20th century. Located at about 2,400 meters above sea level, it is surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery. The site is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and considered one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.
