Norrbotten is the northernmost province of Sweden and part of Lapland. It borders Finland, Norway, and the Baltic Sea (Gulf of Bothnia). The capital is Luleå, known for its important harbor and the historic Gammelstad Church Town (a UNESCO World Heritage Site). Norrbotten is characterized by vast forests, rivers, and national parks such as Sarek, Abisko, and Padjelanta. It is a center of Sámi culture, with reindeer herding and traditions, and a popular destination for experiencing the Northern Lights, the Midnight Sun, and winter activities.
