Dobruja is a historical region in southeastern Europe, divided between Romania and Bulgaria. It stretches between the lower Danube River and the Black Sea. The landscape is characterized by steppes, lakes, coastal areas, and fertile plains. Culturally, Dobruja is a melting pot where Romanians, Bulgarians, Tatars, Turks, and other communities have lived together for centuries. The Danube Delta, bordering the region to the north, is of great ecological significance and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
