Bucharest is the capital of Romania and the country’s largest city. Located on the Dâmbovița River, it serves as Romania’s political, economic, and cultural hub. Bucharest is known for the monumental Palace of the Parliament, one of the largest buildings in the world, as well as its wide boulevards and architecture that blends Belle Époque, communist, and modern influences. The city is often referred to as the “Paris of the East” due to its elegant past.
