Setúbal is a port city in Portugal, located south of Lisbon at the mouth of the Sado River. The city is renowned for its fishing and maritime traditions, historic landmarks such as the Fort of São Filipe, and its proximity to the Arrábida Natural Park, known for its beaches, mountains, and biodiversity. Offshore, Setúbal hosts one of the few wild dolphin populations in Europe. The region is also famous for its sweet Moscatel de Setúbal wine.

Dinosaurs and pilgrims

There has been a lighthouse on Cabo Espichel, which lies at the end of the southwestern headland of the Setubál peninsula, since 1430.
