Lisbon (Lisboa) is the capital of Portugal, located at the mouth of the Tagus River on the Atlantic Ocean. The city is famous for its seven hills, historic neighborhoods such as Alfama, Bairro Alto, and Belém, as well as its trams and viewpoints (Miradouros). Landmarks include the Belém Tower, the Jerónimos Monastery (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), and the 25 de Abril Bridge. Lisbon combines a rich maritime history with modern culture, music (Fado), and vibrant urban life.
