Aveiro is a city on Portugal’s Atlantic coast, south of Porto, often referred to as the “Venice of Portugal.” It is characterized by canals with colorful moliceiro boats, once used for seaweed harvesting. Aveiro is known for its Art Nouveau architecture, the surrounding salt pans, and the local sweet specialty ovos moles.
