Oslo is the capital of Norway, located on the Oslofjord in the southeast of the country. It serves as Norway’s political, economic, and cultural center. Major landmarks include the Royal Palace, the Vigeland Sculpture Park, the Opera House, and the new Munch Museum. Oslo is known for its modern architecture, green parks, and its close proximity to nature – fjords, forests, and ski areas are easily accessible. The city is also the venue for the annual awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize.
