Vilnius is the capital of Lithuania, located in the southeast of the country at the confluence of the Neris and Vilnia rivers. The city is renowned for its Old Town, one of the largest and best-preserved in Eastern Europe, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Architecturally, Vilnius blends Gothic, Baroque, Renaissance, and Neoclassical styles. Key landmarks include the Vilnius Cathedral, Vilnius University (founded in 1579), and the Gate of Dawn. The city is also a cultural hub, with theaters, museums, and a vibrant café and arts scene.

Vilnius, the baroque capital of Lithuania

Vilnius is also often referred to as the baroque capital of Lithuania and the many baroque buildings in the old town confirm this.
