County Meath is located in eastern Ireland in the province of Leinster and is often referred to as the “Royal County,” as it was historically the seat of Ireland’s High Kings. Of particular importance is the Hill of Tara, the ancient royal site. Also located here is the Boyne Valley with the prehistoric passage tomb of Newgrange (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), which predates the Pyramids of Giza. The county is rich in history and archaeological sites.
