Cong is a village in western Ireland, located on the border between County Mayo and County Galway. It lies picturesquely between Lough Corrib and Lough Mask. Cong is famous for the ruins of the Augustinian Cong Abbey as well as for being the filming location of the classic movie The Quiet Man (1952), starring John Wayne and Maureen O’Hara. The surrounding area offers many hiking and nature opportunities in a quintessential Irish landscape.
