Hamburg is Germany’s second-largest city and also a federal state in its own right. Located on the River Elbe, it is renowned for its international port, the third-largest in Europe. Hamburg combines maritime charm with urban life and is characterized by the Speicherstadt and Kontorhaus District (UNESCO World Heritage Site), the Elbphilharmonie concert hall, and the entertainment district of Reeperbahn. The city is considered the cultural hub of northern Germany, with important theaters, museums, and a vibrant music scene.

Neuwerk - Germany's unknown island

The island of Neuwerk is located about 15 km from Cuxhaven in front of the mouth of the Elbe and belongs to the Hanseatic City of Hamburg.
