The Plitvice Lakes are a national park in Croatia and one of the country’s most famous natural landmarks. Located in the Lika region, between Zagreb and the Adriatic coast, the park features 16 larger lakes connected by waterfalls and cascades, along with numerous smaller lakes and rivers. Its turquoise waters, dense forests, and rich wildlife make it a unique natural wonder. The Plitvice Lakes have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979.
