Neum is the only coastal town of Bosnia and Herzegovina, located on the Adriatic Sea between the northern and southern parts of Croatia’s Dalmatian coast. Its coastline stretches for only about 20 kilometers, yet it provides the country’s crucial access to the sea. Neum is known for its Mediterranean climate, beaches, and hotels, and is becoming an increasingly popular tourist destination. Historically, the area was contested among various powers before coming under Ottoman control in the 18th century.
