Antwerp is Belgium’s second-largest city, located in the Flanders region on the River Scheldt. It is an important hub for trade, culture, and art history. Known as the “diamond capital of the world,” Antwerp is famous for its long-standing jewelry and diamond industry. Landmarks include the Cathedral of Our Lady, the City Hall on the Grote Markt, and the Museum aan de Stroom (MAS). Antwerp is also renowned as the home of painter Peter Paul Rubens.

The famous Antwerp train station is affectionately called the “Railway Cathedral” by Belgians. The historic building with its pompous entrance hall is one of the most beautiful buildings in the city.
