Latin description
Mergus merganser

The Common Merganser (Mergus merganser) is a graceful diving bird found in clear lakes and rivers across Europe, Asia, and North America. With its slender body and serrated bill, it is perfectly adapted for catching fish. Common Mergansers are a favorite subject for photographers, especially during hunting or while gliding gracefully in the water.

Common merganser

We photographed Common merganser (Mergus merganser) on the Lofoton in Norway with the Nikon D300 and recently on the Danish island of Bornholm with the Nikon Z9.
