Ouessant (Île d’Ouessant) is a small French island in the Atlantic Ocean, part of Brittany, located west of Brest. It is the westernmost point of mainland France. The island is renowned for its rugged coastline with steep cliffs, strong currents, and several lighthouses, most notably the imposing Phare de Créac’h, one of the most powerful lighthouses in the world. Ouessant is sparsely populated, steeped in traditional Breton culture, and serves as a retreat for nature lovers, hikers, and birdwatchers.
