Reykjavík is the capital of Iceland and the northernmost capital city in Europe. Located on Faxaflói Bay in the southwest of the country, it is Iceland’s political, economic, and cultural center. Reykjavík is known for its modern architecture such as the Harpa Concert Hall, the Hallgrímskirkja Church, and its vibrant art and music scene. The city is powered by abundant geothermal energy from nearby hot springs. Reykjavík also serves as the main gateway for exploring Iceland’s natural wonders, including glaciers, volcanoes, and waterfalls.
