Nantou is the only landlocked county in Taiwan, located in the center of the island. The region is dominated by mountains, including the Central Mountain Range, and is home to Yushan (Jade Mountain), Taiwan’s highest peak. A major highlight is the Sun Moon Lake, one of the country’s most famous tourist destinations.
