Malacca (Melaka) is a historic city on the west coast of Malaysia, situated along the river of the same name. For centuries, it was a major trading hub between East and West, influenced by Portuguese, Dutch, and British rule. The historic center with its colonial buildings, temples, and markets is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Malacca is renowned for its cultural diversity, reflected in its cuisine and architecture.
