Honshū is the largest island of Japan and the country’s political, economic, and cultural center. It is home to the capital Tokyo, major cities such as Osaka, Kyoto, and Hiroshima, as well as natural regions like the Japanese Alps. Stretching from the northern Tōhoku region to the southern Kansai region, the island combines modern urban life with historic sites and diverse landscapes.
