Darjeeling – The “Gateway to the Himalayas”
Darjeeling, a town in the Indian state of West Bengal, is renowned worldwide for its tea and breathtaking views of the Himalayas. Located at an altitude of about 2,000 meters, Darjeeling offers a pleasant climate and a unique view of Kanchenjunga, the third-highest mountain in the world. The town is famous for its colonial architecture, the historic Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, and its multicultural society. Darjeeling tea is a major highlight that attracts visitors from all over the world.

Early in the morning we set out in the dark to the summit of the Tiger Hills with its 2590 meters to experience the sunrise over the Himalayan massif.
