Guilin is located in southeast China on the banks of the Li River (Li Jiang). The name Guilin can be translated as "city of the smelled flower forest".

Guilin is located in the Guangxi Autonomous Region of southern China and is world-famous for its striking karst mountains, river scenery, and rice terraces.
