Tabasco is a state in southeastern Mexico, located on the Gulf of Mexico. The region is characterized by rivers, swamps, and tropical rainforests and is the most water-rich area in the country. Tabasco is rich in archaeological sites of the Olmec culture, including La Venta, and is known for its agriculture and the production of cacao and chocolate.
