Castle Chambord on the Loire

What happens when camera technology advances? One would prefer to visit all former photo motifs again to take technically better photos. Well, that played a role in the second photo trip to the Loire castles in France. After we had recorded the first series on Fuji film with a Nikon F90x in 1996 and later digitized it with a Nikon Coolscan V-scanner,  we went along the river Loire  in spring 2017 again, now equipped with with a Nikon D810 and a Nikkor 24-20mm /f2.8 lenses.

Chambord Castle is the largest castle in the Loire Valley. It was built in the first half of the 16th century under King Franz I as a ceremonial and hunting castle near Chambord and is considered the most magnificent of all Loire castles. (Wikipedia). In 1996 we took the first photo trip along the Loire - without a smartphone, Booking.com, Google-Maps, Google-earth etc. - and without booked accommodations. So it was always adventurous whether and where we would get accommodation at the travel destinations.
